    Hands-On with Confined Spaces and OSHA’s Proposed Silica Rule

    Attendees will gain an understanding of OSHA’s permit-required confined space standard, how to safely

    enter permitted spaces, and the role of the confined space rescue team. A hands-on tour of a mobile

    Confined Space Rescue trailer and Q&A session will be included.

    Workers who inhale microscopic crystalline silica particles are at increased risk of developing silicosis, an

    incurable, sometimes fatal ,lung disease. Find out if your workplace performs jobs that are an inhalation

    risk, learn about respiratory protection, and understand proposed improved worker protection changes.

    George has been with Revere for 43 years. He is a retired Fire Chief

    with the Town of Wallkill. He considers himself one of the most

    knowledgeable confined space and confined space rescue professionals.

    Gary has been with Revere for 5 years and has a degree in

    occupational safety and health.

    Ken is the Director of Safety, Environmental and Education Services.

    He holds numerous certifications including CIH, CSP, and CHMM.
