Recognized as a National SHRM Superior Merit Award Student Chapter for sevenconsecutive years.

    Educational Workshops and Presentations.

HR Games Competition: This exciting academic competition allows students to answer human resource questions over several rounds in a Jeopardy style game show format. This is a fun way for students who are interested in a career in human resources to prepare for certification exams, learn about HR outside of the classroom, and display their knowledge to HR practitioners. In 2006, SUNY New Paltz advanced to the semi-finals of the Northeast Regional HR Games.

On-Campus Joint Chapter Meetings with MHHRA: These meetings offer an opportunity for students to network with business professionals, participate in business discussions, and attend a professional workshop.

Company Visits: Visiting and touring organizations, such as Mohonk Mountain House, Hudson Valley Regional Help Wanted and Balchem Corp., enables students to witness everyday business operations and discuss the human resource function in a real-world work environment.

Student Development Day Conference: This professional development conference has served as an all day educational event with workshops and educational activities. This event has created a forum for students to network with business professionals and gain knowledge and skills to help assist in their career advancement. The Student Association at SUNY New Paltz named this conference as the 2004-2005 Program of the Year.

Community Service Projects: Projects the student chapter has led include collecting donations for Hurricane Katrina relief, leading Operation Christmas Child, clothing and food drives, Breast Cancer Walks, service at Make a Difference Day and blood drives.
