This program will address the fundamentals of Emergency Preparedness for Dutchess County residents and business owners.  The presentation will give HR Professionals important information to provide  employees so they won't be caught off guard in the case of emergency.  The program will define "preparedness", identify barriers to preparedness and steps to become prepared.  In addition, we will discuss the need for Business continuity plans.

Speaker: Bill Beale - Assist Emergency Response Coordinator of Dutchess County

As the Emergency Manager, Mr. Beale will be responsible for developing Dutchess County’s response plans for emergency disaster situations, including updates to the Dutchess County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan (CEMP). The CEMP details the County’s coordinated response to disasters and large scale incidents.  Additionally, the Emergency Manager assists local governments in preparing/planning, responding, mitigating and recovering from large scale disaster. He serves as the liaison between local, county, state and federal agencies in these efforts.

MHHRA will be doing a raffle to support the SHRM Foundation. The SHRM Foundation is dedicated to fostering the development of HR professionals through scholarship programs and research funding. The Foundation awards more than 200 scholarships annually, providing HR practitioners opportunities to earn certifications and pursue graduate or undergraduate degrees.
