The HR-Hiring Manager Disconnect

Do you help your company’s hiring managers fill open positions in some way, shape, or form? Have you ever struggled to get a manager to explain what they’re looking for in a candidate? Or read through tons of resumes only to find out that the manager likes none of them? Do most managers at your company “wing” interviews and shoot from the hip when asking candidates questions? Are many of the hiring decisions based on which candidate the manager “liked” the most?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then this event is for you:

· First we’ll examine your frustrations with the hiring managers you’re trying to help.

· Then we’ll look at things from the hiring manager’s perspective based on a series of one-on-one interviews that Everett did with managers from various industries and company sizes.

· We’ll explore some ways HR and hiring managers have gotten on the same page and are successfully working together to hire top talent.

· In roundtables, we’ll troubleshoot some scenarios that you may find yourself in when working with hiring managers.

Bio

Everett Reiss is Co-Chair of the Philadelphia SHRM Thought Leadership Committee, and Co-Founder and CEO of HireZoom.com, which is a web application that helps HR and hiring managers objectively identify the best matching candidates for their job openings.

Before starting HireZoom, Everett spent the first eight years of his career working with staffing firms to streamline their recruiting, onboarding, and payroll processes. Everett has a Bachelor of Arts degree in History with a secondary education certification, and a Business Minor from Marist College; and an Internet Marketing Masters Certificate from University of San Francisco.
