The March program consists of two presentations conducted by Thom Kleiner from the New York State Department of Labor. In addition, experts from the labor department will be on hand to answer questions participants have about unemployment rules in New York State.
Unemployment Insurance Reform
New York State has just passed unemployment insurance reform. The reform is expected to help employers pay off their debt. The reform is expected to reduce interest payments to the federal government, prevent fraud, bring equity among employers, and encourage claimants to return to work. Find out what’s in the new reforms and how they will impact your business.
New Tools to Help Your Business Grow
New York offers a number of tools that can help employers find qualified workers, secure the necessary training for their workforce, and inform them about the labor market conditions in the Hudson Valley that affect their business. This presentation will provide information about everything from posting jobs with the New York State job bank to taking advantage of tax credits for your business. Learn how to access these tools and more, and make the most of resources available to employers in the Hudson Valley Region.
