    2015 update: What's new with ACA compliance this year and beyond as well as Complying with ACA Employer Reporting requirements/ IRC sections 6055 and 6056.

    This topic will be covering the new reporting requirements in 2015 for large employers; completing forms 1095-c and 1094-C for reporting full time employees to the IRS; the new SBC requirements for this year; understanding the Cadillac Tax; an update on the major legal challenges to the ACA : new small employer definition in 2016.

    Dan Colacino is a Vice President with Rose and Kiernan, Inc., one of the largest regional brokerage firms in the United States. His principal role is working with employers on the effective design, underwriting and pricing of their benefit plans and insuring their compliance with State and Federal regulation and legislation  Prior to joining Rose and Kiernan, Colacino was the Chief Marketing Officer at Capital District Physician’s Health Plan in Albany and has worked in the healthcare benefits field for over 41 years.  

    Dan is an adjunct professor at Union Graduate College teaching Healthcare Financial Management and Healthcare Policymaking in the School of Management.He served for 3 years as President of the New York State Association of Health Underwriters and is co-chair of the Legislative Committee.  He represented NYSAHU on Governor Paterson’s Healthcare Reform Advisory Committee in 2010 and the NY Health Benefit Exchange Stakeholder Group.  In 2012, he was appointed to the NY Health Benefit Exchange Regional Advisory Committee.He served on the Board of Bethlehem Senior Projects and has served on the boards of the Albany Rotary Club, Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce and Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce.

    Dan is a native of the Rochester NY area and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from the State University of New York at Brockport.  He received his Master of Science degree in Health Systems Administration from Union Graduate College in Schenectady, New York.
