    DANIEL E. COLACINO from Rose and Kiernan presents "Anticipated Changes to the ACA"

    MHHRA will be doing a 50/50 raffle to support the SHRM Foundation. The SHRM Foundation is dedicated to fostering the development of HR professionals through scholarship programs and research funding. The Foundation awards more than 200 scholarships annually, providing HR practitioners opportunities to earn certifications and pursue graduate or undergraduate degrees.

    About our Speakers:  DANIEL E. COLACINO, Vice President, Underwriting and Compliance, Rose & Kiernan, Inc.

    Dan Colacino is a Vice President with Rose & Kiernan, Inc..  He specializes in the field of employee benefits and has over 40 years of experience.  His principal role is working with employers on the effective design, underwriting and pricing of their benefit plans and insuring their compliance with State and Federal regulation and legislation. He also has been writing and teaching Continuing Education classes for brokers and agents since 2013

    Prior to joining Rose & Kiernan, Colacino was the Chief Marketing Officer at Capital District Physician’s Health Plan in Albany and has held senior business development positions with Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield and Blue Shield of Northeastern New York.  

    Dan was an adjunct professor in the School of Management at Union Graduate College (now Clarkson University) teaching Healthcare Financial Management and Healthcare Policy in the School of Management from 2007 to 2014..  He served for 3 years as President of the New York State Association of Health Underwriters and is co-chair of the Legislative Committee.

    Dan was appointed to Governor Patterson’s Healthcare Reform Advisory Committee in 2009; Governor Cuomo’s Healthcare Reform Stakeholder Group in 2011 and currently serves on the NY State of Health Regional Advisory Committee.

    He has served on the Boards of Bethlehem Senior Projects, Albany Rotary Club, Albany-Colonie Regional Chamber of Commerce and Bethlehem Chamber of Commerce. 

    Dan is a native of the Rochester NY area and received his Bachelor of Science degree in Community Health from the State University of New York at Brockport.  He received his Master of Science degree in Health Systems Administration from Union College in Schenectady, New York.
