With the start of a New Year, it’s essential that employers understand how the new tax bill and other pending legislation will impact certain employee benefits. This presentation will be taking a look at politics in 2018 and health care, both at the State and Federal level and the implications for your health benefits plan. There are several pieces of unfinished business on the national level; no fiscal year budget in place, no permanent funding for CHIP, etc. In the background is still the Republican promise to replace the Affordable Care Act, regardless of the implications their plan(s) may have. Items such as the Individual Mandate and Cadillac have been impacted, but to what degree? Along with this, there are midterm elections and the battle for incumbents to put a spin on what’s been accomplished during their term in office. It’s also an election year for New York and our neighboring States with some interesting potential there as well. Please join us as we look ahead at 2018 and give you an idea of what to expect.
