Presentation Information:
Lisa Padilla-Hansen, Local Veteran's Employee Representative with the New York Dept. of Labor will present on the obstacles Veterans face in finding work, benefits of hiring veterans, how to hire veterans and any incentives that are available to employers. The goal is to provide insight on how to better serve our veteran job candidates and benefit from their expertise and training.

Lisa Padilla Hansen Bio:
After Community College, Lisa joined the US Navy to travel and see the world. She served four years at the Pentagon as an Admiral’s Aide and was fortunate after separating from the Navy to find a job with a technical head-hunting firm in Alexandria, VA, placing junior military officers with Fortune 100 companies nationwide. After moving back to NY, opening a restaurant with her husband and completing her Bachelor’s degree, Lisa started a career with NYS and took a job with Department of Corrections. She eventually transferred to SUNY New Paltz and has now been with the Department of Labor in the veteran program over eight years as the Local Veteran Employer’s Representative.
