    TOPIC: To help employees manage rising out-of-pocket healthcare costs, many employers offer Health Savings Accounts (HSAs), Flexible Spending Arrangements (FSAs), or Health Reimbursement Arrangements (HRAs) as part of their benefits package.

     While HSAs, FSAs, and HRAs are all individual account-based arrangements, substantial differences exist between these plans, including how they are established, funded, and maintained. It is important for employers to understand the regulations that govern these arrangements and how they apply in practice.

     During her presentation Dannielle will provide insight into each of these benefit options—plan design considerations, compliance concerns, discrimination issues and recent developments, including the new Individual Coverage & Excepted Benefit HRAs.

     

    Speaker: Danielle O'Toole-Mattes, Esq. from Marshall & Sterling

    BIO: Dannielle serves as the Manager of Compliance and Client Solutions within Marshall & Sterling’s Group Benefits division. She advises clients on all types of employee benefit compliance issues, particularly focusing her practice on the Affordable Care Act, ERISA, DOL audits and implementing technology solutions.

     Dannielle is a licensed attorney and active member of the New York State Bar Association. Dannielle received her undergraduate degree, summa cum laude, from the University at Buffalo and her Juris Doctor, cum laude, from SUNY Buffalo Law School. Dannielle also holds New York State insurance licenses for Life, Accident and Health. Dannielle has worked within the NYS Court System, State Administrative agencies and corporate regulatory compliance departments prior to joining Marshall & Sterling in 2014.
